When understanding filter cartridge filtration, it is necessary to master the following aspects:

1、 Working principle of filter element

The working principle of filter cartridge filtration is mainly based on the principle of physical filtration, which filters out impurities and particles in water through the pore size and structural shape of the filter cartridge material. Specifically, water enters the interior of the filter element from the inlet, passes through the filtering effect of the filter material, removes impurities and particles from the water, and is then discharged from the outlet. The selection of filter material and structural design have a crucial impact on the filtration effect during this process.

2、 Material and type of filter element

Filter material: Common filter materials include polypropylene, activated carbon, ceramics, nanomaterials, etc. Different materials have different characteristics and filtration effects. For example, activated carbon filters are good at removing odors and organic substances, while ceramic filters have good high temperature and corrosion resistance.

Filter cartridge type: Depending on the filtration accuracy, filter cartridges can be divided into coarse filter cartridges, medium filter cartridges, fine filter cartridges, etc. The coarse filter element is mainly used to filter large particles of impurities, such as sand, soil, etc; The intermediate filter element is used to filter medium-sized impurities such as rust, sediment, etc; Fine filter cartridges can filter out tiny impurities such as bacteria, viruses, etc.

3、 Performance parameters of filter element

Filtering accuracy: refers to the minimum particle size that the filter element can filter, generally expressed in micrometers (μ m). The smaller the filtering accuracy, the better the filtering effect, but the service life of the filter element will also be correspondingly shortened.

Flow rate: refers to the amount of water that passes through the filter element per unit time, generally expressed in liters per hour (L/h). The larger the flow rate, the better the filtering effect of the filter element, but it will also affect the service life of the filter element.

Service life: refers to the time that the filter element can be used, generally expressed in hours (h) or liters (L). The longer the service life, the better the filtering effect of the filter element, but the replacement cycle will also be correspondingly extended.

4、 Replacement and maintenance of filter element

Replacement cycle: The replacement cycle of the filter element is generally determined based on the service life and water quality of the filter element. The replacement cycle for different types and materials of filter elements varies. For example, the replacement cycle for coarse and medium filter elements is 3-6 months, the replacement cycle for fine filter elements and activated carbon filter elements is 6-12 months, and the replacement cycle for reverse osmosis filter elements is 12-24 months.

Replacement and cleaning: When replacing the filter element, attention should be paid to the order of cleaning and replacing the filter element to avoid affecting the filtration effect. At the same time, regularly cleaning the filter element can also extend its service life and improve its filtration efficiency.

Above, understanding filter cartridge filtration requires mastering the working principle, materials and types, performance parameters, replacement and maintenance, application areas, and precautions of filter cartridges.
